SHINOREI is a metalcore / post-hardcore duo forged between two extremes:
Japan and the United States. Shadow and light. Death and glory.

The project unites Daichi (D-Mad Devil), an independent Japan-based artist who spent years immersed in solitude and sonic darkness, and Christian Grey, the frontman of Villain of the Story and a voice of triumph and brilliance in the US metalcore scene.

Though separated by an ocean, both artists are bound by a shared obsession—a devotion to music so deep it blurs the line between creation and possession.

SHINOREI is not just a band. It is the echo of two souls—one who burned to reach the world, the other who became a ghost to stay true to his art.
Together, they create songs that exist between life and death, between isolation and spotlight, where melody meets scream, and reality dissolves into emotion.

Their debut single, Into the Void, marked the beginning of this union: a collision of sorrow and intensity, where two distinct voices confronted each other across the dark.

But with the release of their second single, Grace, SHINOREI crossed into a new phase.
Here, the dual-vocal chemistry that defined their origin becomes something deeper—two voices weaving into one, merging with a level of synchronicity that dissolves the boundary between them.
Grace is where SHINOREI stops being a partnership and starts becoming a single, living entity.

Alongside the song, SHINOREI unveiled a new symbol:
a spirit-like mascot born from the fusion of Daichi and Christian’s identities—a visual embodiment of shadow and light becoming one.
What began as two silhouettes has now taken shape as a single presence.

In Japanese, “SHINOREI（死の霊）” means spirit of death.
But its deeper truth is this:

“When you reach the light, something must die. SHINOREI is what remains—and now, it has a form.”

SHINOREI は、真逆の世界に生きる二人の魂が交わって生まれた、日米メタルコア／ポストハードコア・デュオ。

日本とアメリカ。影と光。死と栄光。

このプロジェクトは、長年にわたって孤独と音の闇に身を沈めてきた日本のアーティスト Daichi（D-Mad Devil）と、アメリカのバンド Villain of the Story のフロントマンであり、成功と輝きを体現する Christian Grey によって結成された。

海を隔てていながら、彼らを結びつけたのは一つの執念——音楽に取り憑かれた者だけが持つ、創作と狂気の境界を越えるような衝動。

SHINOREI は、ただのバンドではない。
それは、「世界に届くために燃え尽きようとする者」と「信念のために霊となることを選んだ者」——その二人の魂の反響である。

彼らの音楽は、“生と死の狭間”に存在する。孤独とスポットライトの中間。メロディとスクリームが交差し、現実が感情に溶けていくような音。

デビューシングル「Into the Void」は、その始まりの叫び。切なさと激しさを同時にまとったサウンドが、二人のツインボーカルの衝突と調和を刻みつけた。

そして 2nd シングル「Grace」で、SHINOREI は次の段階へと踏み出す。
ここでは、二人の声は境界を失い、まるで一つの存在の中で螺旋のようにシンクロする。
「Grace」は、SHINOREI が“ふたり”から“ひとつ”へと変化し始めた瞬間を象徴している。

その象徴として、二人の特徴を融合させたマスコットが新たに誕生した。
影と光が形を得たその存在は、SHINOREIが単なるコラボレーションではなく、一つの生命体として動き始めたことを示す記号である。

「SHINOREI（死の霊）」という名前には、“死”という意味だけではなく、このような想いが込められている：

「人が光を得たとき、何かが死ぬ。SHINOREIとは、光に照らされた後に残るもの——そして今、その姿を得た霊である。」
